PREVIEW-LIMA SENIOR VS GR CATHOLIC CENTRAL

Up and down we go for game seven of the 10th Annual 2K Showcase, featuring a showdown between Lima Senior from Northwest, Ohio and the Grand Rapids Catholic Central Cougars.

Lima Senior (9-6) is stepping onto the 2K Showcase stage for the first time, representing Ohio. This marks the second appearance of a Lima team in the showcase, the last being Lima Catholic Central in 2015. The Spartans, currently on a 3-game win streak, are led by Coach Quincy Simpson a proud native of Lima, his team embodies the same city spirit and tradition as he does. Despite missing their two key Division 1 starters junior Je’Kel Cotton and sophomore Amari Addy, the Spartans boast a talented young core. Freshman standout Shawn Foster is arguably the top freshmen in all of Ohio, dynamic sophomore guard Isaiah Wilson at the point, and versatile forward Jagger Hutchins is a mismatch problem inside and outside.

Grand Rapids Catholic Central (9-3) returns to the showcase for their second appearance, riding an impressive eight-game winning streak. Though they'll be without the services of sophomore Izaya Larthridge due to injury, Coach TJ Meerman still relies on the stellar performance of Mr. Basketball favorite Durral “Phat Phat” Brooks. Senior Carter Meerman (Ferris St) provides valuable experience, while sophomore Jordan McCoy continues to show growth throughout the season.

As this matchup is set for a fast paced up tempo basketball, both teams will benefit and get better as they gear up for their state tournaments.
